How can we create our destiny?
It is often believed that we need good education, good guidance, good parenting, good opportunities and good connections to succeed. Yes, maybe. They just give us advantages over others. Something others didn't have so you are ahead of them. The largest factor that is most vital for success is "Time management". Our usage of 86,400 seconds gifted to us by the lord everyday, determines whether we are a success or a failure or just a mediocre.
We must learn to define success first. A successful man is the one who prospers in body, mind and soul. Some people are so poor that all they have is money. The following things will be helpful even when we depart from this world. They will be stored in our subconscious to be used in next lifetimes.
Some simple practical tips for success and therefore creating our destiny can be as follows:
- Getting up at 4 AM: This hour of the early morning is precious for spiritual, mental and physical health. The universe vibrates with beneficial vibrations. Just being up at this hour has huge spiritual benefits. Besides this, the extra few hours (2 to 3 hours) in comparison to others gives you a head-start. There are no distractions, no emergencies, no screens and you have a balanced head to plan the next 86,400 seconds.
- Exercising: Keep it simple. Walk, preferably fast or cycle or swim. No gadgets or gyms are necessary. They only distract you and bring your attention to body sculpting rather than good health. Keeping fit for appearing attractive to others is another mental dependence on validation or appreciation by others. To remain healthy a simple set of exercises are enough.
- Plan your day: Keeping God in your plans is a good idea. Assume he is around you as a person at all times. Talk to him. Ask him direct questions. Request his participation. He answers through your intuition. Make plans with timings. Keep time for pleasure and leisure too. But govern your time rather than time and situations governing you. When the plan goes bad, wink at God and ask him to contribute more actively.
- Meditate: Our conscious mind is mere 5%. The huge subconscious which is 95% of our total mind lies buried inside us. We use it sparingly only as a store house of memories, habits and attitudes. Just between the thin line where conscious meets the subconscious sits the most powerful Super-conscious mind. It has all the consciousness and power of God. We live quite unaware of it until we learn to meditate with precision and concentration. There are techniques to access it. Learn meditation.
- Learn to be kind: There are a 1000 ways to be kind. You don"t have to be a rich person to give to others. A smile, an assurance, an applause, a piece of advice, a cheerful temperament, a physical assistance, an amount of money, a polite behaviour, a calm persona: they all work. Give without sense of "I the giver". Remember God is next to you as a person. He is pleased when you help with the feeling of "Nishkaam karma"
- Uncomplicate life: Most common life complicating habits are: the increasing need to check phone for messages, watching TV needlessly, attachment to likes on social media, tendency to get the latest gadget or car because the one you own is obsolete, prioritising things over people, running the rat race while aping something you saw others do, getting lured by physical possessions others own, considering eating or drinking in some fancy distant restaurant a triumph etc etc. Choose to consciously remain simple. They not only save your money and time but also the need to maintain your possessions.
- Spend time in nature: The biggest elixir of health lies in nature. Walk in the woods, do gardening at home, walk barefoot in the grass and soil, gaze at the sun during early mornings & evenings, expose your body to sunlight, breathe deep and consciously, learn Pranyama and Yoga, feed the birds and see them perched on your shoulder, touch the bark of a tree with both hands, spend time with toddlers, spend time with elders, open your heart. Simplify life patterns.
- Travel and learn: Travel anywhere. In some peaceful environment. Travel alone sometimes. Talk to people and learn their experiences. Learn new things, learn a language if possible, learn a skill, learn a dish, share with others the kindness of your heart. Spend time alone at the beach or at a high cliff. Introspect with God besides you.
These are a few things I could think of. Add some more if you like in your reply to this blog. Life is beautiful. Live it with grace and love. And remember God is besides you even now while you read it.
