You Are Created For A Special Purpose

There are two most fundamental and inherent questions that everyone is encountered with. We must understand and answer diligently and prudently. They are (a) Who am I? (b) Why am I here?

While answering the first question you must understand that you are the sacred child of the "Divine Infinite Being" and you must live a life worthy of that "Infinite Being" you should not let Him down either by your actions or by your endeavours. While answering the second question, you must realize that ‘you are created for a special purpose' and that purpose is divine, supreme, transcendental and heavenly.

This life has some in-built core ideology, core values and core purposes. According to the great master thinkers like JIM and PORRAS – the "PURPOSE" is the most fundamental reason for existence. Every person exists because there is a mission to be accomplished and a significant work to be completed. You are created for a distinctive responsibility and for extraordinary duty to be fulfilled. That duty is to work for the welfare of humanity, creating their prosperity and procuring their security. It is not only a duty but it is a divinely ordained responsibility.

Chinese parents teach their children to use the words JING SHI JI SU which means "govern the people and build their welfare by building the economy". Even the Japanese people use the word KEI ZAI which means build the economy and wealth and govern the people harmoniously. This tells us that we build the wealth for the welfare of people and not really for selfish motives.

Some people measure success by the wealth they've accumulated, the power they've attained, or the status they've achieved. Even though they've reached success beyond their wildest dreams, they still have an empty feeling. Their Soul is constantly searching for something more. The missing element in their lives is ‘purpose'.

You will miss your destiny when you don't have purpose. Without it, it's easy to squander your time and your resources on activities that bring transitory pleasure that are of no benefit to you or to the society. Without purpose, you may achieve extraordinary success but you still will feel that life is passing you by and there is emptiness in life.

Living a purposeful life means you have the wheels in your hand and you know where you are going.

Why is it important to live a life full of purpose? Finding your life purpose creates a sense of meaning in your life. It gives you direction. It means that your wealth is an outcome of your efforts and not your goal.

Fulfilment in life begins with purpose. It will fill the void that you are constantly experiencing in spite of having all that you need. Do what you love to do, what you are good at, and ask yourself what you can contribute to the world. Don't be rudderless.

Life with purpose will lead you to a meaningful destiny. Leading a purposeful life is admittedly not an easy task, but it's important. The one thing that binds most people, whom we all hold as great, is that they have all led lives filled with purpose. Think of people like Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela or celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan or business tycoons like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and closer home, Ratan Tata and Azeem Premji. They all realize that the world has been good to them and now they must share whatever they have received with those who are not so fortunate. It is "give-back" time. In every one's life there is a time called "give-back" time.

Now you are probably thinking how I can match these people. Well let me tell you- you don't have to have a huge net worth to qualify. To put it in a simple way. Every tiny push is as vital as a mighty shove and you will be changing lives for the better in your own way. Realize that every mighty river commenced its journey with tiny springs.

There are some simple methods to make our life more meaningful and purposeful. An anecdote about Socrates - the greatest philosopher of the world comes to mind. One day he was encountered by his students; who asked him "Master how one can be always happy?" Socrates said "Find someone inferior, who is lowly, ancillary and downtrodden and lift him up from his misery. Offer him relief, support and succour; you will find joy and fulfilment. More than him, you will be uplifted.".

In order to find meaning and purpose in life do the following:

1. Find someone hurting on the streets and help him to be healed. Find out whether his scars are physical, emotional, psychological or financial. Render only simple help.
2. Ask someone what you can do for him.
3. Create connectivity with people and listen to their problems.
4. Build passion to be with people and be people-oriented.
5. Be always surrounded by positive people.
6. Find out the people who are suffering with injustice and help them.
7. Make sure of your purpose and your destiny.

After doing the above mentioned simple things, let your purpose grow bigger and let your concentration be on global issues. People with higher goals and higher purpose will be involved with greater issues that are encountered by humanity. They are:

1. Eradication of global poverty.
2. Eradication of hunger and famine.
3. Eradicating the world’s inequalities.
4. Creating accessibility of health care for everyone.
5. Creating accessibility of education to every citizen.

The great American philosopher Ralph Emerson once said "The purpose of life is not to be merely happy. It is to be useful, to be compassionate and kind and to make a positive and optimistic difference to the lives of the less endowed members of our society". Our lives must make the world a better place. We must leave this world better than yesterday. It’s never too late to start.

Life is dynamic. Make an impact on people. Have a growth plan for yourself. Let there be meaning for your existence. You will find joy and accomplishment when you become a source of blessing to others-that is the purpose of life.
