Listen to this audio blog:
“You educate a man, you just educate a man,
But if you educate a woman, you educate a clan”
Wish you a very Happy Women's Day !!
Women and men are the two wheels of the same cart. Just imagine, women account for half of humanity. Why is it that one wheel runs slower than the other? Is this the reason why humanity runs in circles? We have to balance the two.
During my workshops with women, the one question that I am often asked is “How can I become a better woman?” My response to them is; “Being a better woman does not mean that you want to become better than others, it simply means that you must become a better version of yourself than yesterday.”
The first thing that women must do is to take charge of their life. Disengaging from the clutter of needless engagements is a must. Shedding social limitations that hinder and limit female initiative, must be done away with. One has to climb out of that box that the society has locked them into. Women must unlearn the irrelevant baggage that is preventing them from taking charge of their new life.
Learn to systematically think, plan and act. You have to unravel your existing thought process and thinking patterns. Set your own goals and not allow others to define you. Your own welfare is utmost important before you can take care of others. At the end of the day, it is imperative to demand better from yourself, to unlearn encumbering behaviours that hold you back and learn how to be better. Once you demand better from yourself, you can assertively demand better from your family, friends and society.
Always remember newer triumphs come from uncertain conditions. Don't be afraid of venturing out into the unfamiliar and unknown. Only by accomplishing challenges do we cross new thresholds. If you won't take the first step, you will be stuck in your comfort zone for the rest of your life. “I am too old”, “I don't have the time”, “I don't think I can do it”, “those who can are special people”, “What's meant to be will be.” Stop with the excuses. It's never too late to change.
You have the power, the ability to shape your life by shaping your thoughts, by a surge of will-power, by applying determination and practicing perseverance. Don't allow fear or circumstances to control the direction of your life. Don't worry about what people will think. Don't be trapped in a drama of relationships. You also have a relationship with yourself. Fall in love with yourself. For far too long you have assisted others and helped them lead their lives. Now give some time to yourself and your dreams. Open your wings and start to fly.
Simple tips that are helpful in women's evolution:
- Make goals and targets. Small and big. Aim for one additional step than you previously were.
- Do not classify work as masculine or feminine. Humans are no more going into the forest to hunt and gather. In the digital age most work is achievable by both genders.
- Manage time judiciously. Plan every step in the units of months, days and hours.
- Use intuition. Women have better intuition.
- Your goal is not to be equal to men. That's a lower ambition and in the wrong direction. Just be better than yourself qualitatively each day.
- Remember world was created unequal. Its your ability that makes you a ‘bigger equal'. Don't wait to be rescued or someone else empowering you.
- It's a privilege to be taking care of your children and home. Enable your children to be independent soon. Get whatever help possible from anyone so that your time planning and goal achievement is not jeopardized.
- Your goals and ambition are as important as anyone else's. Do not be a martyr on the anvil of your dreams.
- Avoid distractions of society, entertainment and needless engagements. Enrich each day. Maintain a daily list of your ‘what did I learn today'?
- Learn to be yourself. Respect yourself. A soul inside you is genderless. It is made in the same light of God.
